Creation of an icon to represent NewPlayer, the new media player framework to be used by NewPipe, a popular open-source Youtube frontend for Android
Story
In august 2024 I submitted a redesign proposal for the main NewPipe app, as they were in the process of a deep overhaul of the codebase and I thought that new start would open the scenario of a refreshed brand
On the GitHub issue I opened, I also attached an image of the design process

A year later, TheScrabi (the original developer of NewPipe) reached out to me for permission to use one of my icons
He was appointed by NewPipe to write the new media player framework to substitute NewPipe’s current player module
He really liked one of the process versions and wanted to use it for this project
I revisited the design to improve legibility and style
